Lord Voldemort

Harry James Potter, was born July 31st, 1980 to Lily J. Potter, nee Evans, and James Potter. When he was first born, Harry was one of two children who could potentially fulfill a prophecy which was made in reference to the most powerful and evil Dark Lord in the history of the British Isle’s. This prophecy stated:

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…

Sybil Trelawny

Professor of Divination, Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

In an effort to ensure his uncontested triumph, Lord Voldemort started to hunt down the Potter family to kill off the young Harry. The Potter’s attempted to hide from the Dark Lord by secreting their residence with the use of the Fidelius Charm, which was designed to completely hide a secret from everyone that has not been given the passcode to it. Unfortunately, the Potter’s chose to trust the wrong person, Peter Petegrew, who turned out to be a traitor and a member of the Dark Lord’s personal army, the Death Eaters. On October 31st, 1981, Lord Voldemort confronted the Potter’s in their home and killed both James and Lily. No one knows what exactly happened next, but when the Dark Lord tried to kill young Harry, his spell rebounded back onto Lord Voldemort, and disembodied him

In the confusing aftermath, young Harry was taken to live with his mother’s sister, Petunia Dursley and her husband Vernon. To say that Harry grew up in a less than ideal environment is a gross understatement of the greatest kind. The mildest form of difficulty that Harry experienced was that his “bedroom” was nothing more that the cupboard under the stairs. He didn’t get a real bedroom until he was 11 years old when he received his letter of acceptance to the Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Until he was almost 16 years old, his family showed him little to now love or affection. The closest that he came was when his cousin, Dudley Dursley, thanked him for saving him the year before and wished him luck as the Dursley’s were being taken to a safe location.

Harry’s admittance to Hogwart’s was only the beginning of the adventures that Harry would be going through over the next seven years. In ever increasing dangerous encounters, Harry would repeatedly encounter Lord Voldemort and his minions. It wasn’t until he was 17 years old, that Harry would finally be able be able to able to reunite the legendary items called the Deathly Hallows, making him the new “Master of Death.” This new power, in addition to his amazing capacity to love, enabled him to finally defeat the Dark Lord, bringing peace to the wizarding world of the British Isle’s.

Red Skull

Steven “Steve” Rogers started off life as the sickly, asthmatic, son of poor Irish immigrants to the United States. When World War II broke out, Steve felt the overwhelming desire to enlist and help fight against the Nazi’s. The reason for this is, in his own words, due to him not liking bullies. Unfortunately, Steve was declared 4-F (unfit for service) due to his asthmatic and sickly disposition. After repeatedly attempting to enlist, he came to the attention of Dr. Abraham Erskine and was offered the opportunity to join Project: Rebirth. This project was designed to make Steve the first of many super soldiers for the American army. Unfortunately, Dr. Erskine was assassinated shortly after the successful completion of the project with Steve, taking the secrets of the Super Soldier Serum and process with him to the grave.

After taking the opportunity to save some captured Allied soldiers in WWII, Steve (now given a promotion and called Captain America) was put in charge of a special detachment of soldiers called the Howling Commandos. Some of these soldiers included later superheroes Nick Fury and James “Logan” Howlett (also known as Wolverine), and most notably Bucky Barnes the longtime friend of Steve. Throughout the course of the war, Cap and his troops fought against the many threats presented by the Nazi’s, but none were more dangerous than Johann Shmidt (the Red Skull). The Red Skull has many of the same powers and abilities that Sentinel of Liberty does, though absolutely none of the morals. Over the course of the war, the Red Skull became the single largest threat and adversary of Captain America. Unfortunately, during one of the confrontations with the organization that the Red Skull led, HYDRA, Cap’s friend Bucky was presumably killed. Shortly after this happened Cap went Missing In Action (MIA) and was presumed to have been killed, though not before largely dismantling HYDRA’s WWII operations.

Over 40 years passed before any signs of Captain America were found, when he was discovered to have been encased and frozen in ice. After thawing out, and living through the process due to his enhanced healing and longevity, from his cryogenic sleep Captain Rogers went right back to fighting the good fight. Since waking up he has continued to defend American liberty, and the “little guy.” In many ways he is the ultimate embodiment of the oath that is taken upon becoming an officer or enlisted member of the American Armed Forces, by being continuing to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” This desire and strive to fulfill his oath has often made him appear to be the “moral” compass of any superhero group that he joined, such as The Avengers. However, this desire has also caused him to oftentimes come into conflict with those appointed over him when he has been given orders that he deems illegal or immoral.

Numerous times Steve Rogers has stepped down from active service as Captain America in favor of such friends and companions as Sam Wilson (Falcon) and his longtime friend Bucky Barns (The Winter Soldier) who as captured and brainwashed, and not killed as originally thought. Despite this, Steve has always answered his nations call, and returned time and again to serve the country that he loves so much.

Darth Vader

Bio –

Luke Skywalker is the son of Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) and Padme Amidala, however Padme died in childbirth and Vader does not know that Luke exists. Because of that Luke was raised by his uncle named Owen. In addition to that Obi Wan Kenobi (Vader’s old master) has watched over Luke since birth. Luke was a good pilot and always wanted to join the resistance in order to fight the oppressive Empire. When Luke was less than a year from being able to move out and join the rebellion, Uncle Owen bought a few droids that (unknown to him) had top secret plans for the Empire’s next mega weapon. The droid had gotten order to deliver them to Obi Wan, as he was in a position to help get the plans back to the rebellion. Because of that the droid (R2-D2) ran off to find Obi Wan. Luke, not wanting to get in trouble with his uncle, went after him. Luke was attacked by some sand people from which Obi Wan (Ben Kenobi) saved Luke and the droids. Ben told Luke of his father and he told Luke that Vader killed his father (from a certain point of view), and he gave Luke his father’s old lightsaber.

Upon returning home Luke found that his family had been killed so he joined Ben to get the plans back to the rebels. Luke ended up joining the group of rebels to attack the Empire’s new mega weapon the Death Star. While on the mission is when Vader first verbally noticed that Luke was strong in the force and until the next time that they met, Vader didn’t tell Luke that he is his father. Shortly after the Death Star was destroyed Luke found Yoda and received Jedi training, however he did not complete the training as he saw that in the future Han Solo, and Leia Organa were being tortured and he went to save them. While trying to save them he had a run in with Darth Vader in person, where he found out the truth about his father and had his hand cut off. Vader unsuccessfully tried to have Luke join him and Luke narrowly escaped.

Luke then went on to embrace the teachings of the Jedi despite Yoda having died after he left, and shortly after Vader had died Luke started a school to teach people about the force. However, the plan ended in disaster when the Knights of Renn killed or assimilated nearly everyone involved with his school. Luke then went into hiding for many years.

Bio –

Diana has two main origin stories. Her classic origin from 1941 goes that Wonder Woman was sculpted from clay by her mother, the Queen Hippolyta. The Greek Gods took compassion on Hippolyta and gave the clay statue life which in turn imbued her with the power of the gods. While on a recon mission Diana discovers US pilot Steve Trevor. Fascinated by him and the stories of the world he comes from she agrees to take him home but must stay in the modern world and help defend it from evil.

Her New 52 origin changes her back story in an interesting way. Rather than being a clay statue brought to life, she is now truly the daughter of Queen Hippolyta and Zeus.  Her original origin story is shown to be a cover to keep the new born demi-god safe from the wrath of Hera.

Diana is a founding member of the Justice League, and one of the most powerful heroes in the DC universe. Her strength is shown to be on par with Shazam, Martian Manhunter and Superman. Currently she has taken on the title and role of “God of War.” Wonder Woman has an arsenal of mystical weapons at her disposal. These include her Bracers of Victory, royal tiara, magical sword, and the Lasso of Truth. The Bracers of Victory are made from fragments of Zeus’s shield and can withstand any blast. Her royal tiara which is magical in nature can be used as a boomerang. Her magical sword can injure almost any character in the DC universe including Darkside and Superman. The Lasso of Truth has the ability to compel whoever is caught in it to tell the truth. The lasso can also restore memories and shield those close to it from magical attacks.

The Joker

Bio –

Bruce Wayne, son of the wealthy Thomas and Martha Wayne, grew up in Wayne Manor in Gotham City. At the age of eight Bruce and his family encountered tragedy were leaving the theater one night.  An armed assailant came out of the shadows demanding Thomas’ wallet and in particular Martha’s pearl necklace. With tension high the assailant shot Thomas and Martha brutally as Bruce stood by helpless. Bruce was raised by the family butler Alfred Pennyworth.

Bruce swore vengeance for the murder of his parents and began to train himself both mentally and physically to not let this happen to others. Wanting to strike fear into his enemies, much like he was fear-stricken the night his parents died, he adapted his costume to resemble his greatest fear. Bruce spent many years learning as many forms of martial arts as he could. At the present time it’s said he is a master of all known martial arts. With arguably the highest IQ in the DC universe Bruce has earned the title of “the world’s greatest detective.”

Bruce naturally has a hard time letting people in and even those closest to him say they don’t know everything about him or understand his motives all the time. While Bruce has never come out and said it, he thinks of Alfred as family and on multiple occasions when asked why he lets his servant talk to him like that he has said,” He isn’t a servant, he is a friend.” This personality trait along with his unique night life has made it almost impossible for him to maintain a serious romantic relationship with anyone.

The Prophets

Bio –

John is originally from Eridanus II, a small world under protection of the UNSC (United Nations Space Command). At the age of six he was kidnapped by a Dr. Hasley to be a part of the UNSC’s Spartan II project, a project intended to produce an elite group of operatives (Spartans) to be able to fight off the increasing rebel threat. The training was vigorous starting the day at six in the morning working until the afternoon to start their classes for things like tactics and algebra. Despite being physically average in comparison to the rest of the Spartans, John (due to his luck) became the leader of all 75 Spartans by the time they were eight. It was at the age of 14 that their physical augmentations took place, this augmentation increased their reflexes and strength dramatically and on top of that it made their bones become as strong as steel reinforced concrete. Due to the amount of strain that these augmentations put on the body many of them died, they went from 75 down to 33.

It was shortly after that when during a test John killed one ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper) and put two others in the hospital in a fist fight. By the time the Spartans first mission came around they were elite soldiers unmatched in combat and in tactics, and John was now the rank of Master Chief. The Mjolnir armor is a huge suit made mostly of titanium, but with many other materials as well. There is not delayed response for the armor to move due to the fact that it connects to his brain through an implant on the back of his head, in that way the armor will move in sync with his own body. His armor’s power source consists of nuclear power cores so he basically has unlimited power forever. His armor did not have an energy shield on top of it until shortly after the humans first run in with the Covenant. Their Jackals had a shield attached to their arm and the humans reverse engineered it to work as a passive shield on the Mjolnir armor. As a side not the Elites in the Covenant did not have energy shields until they stole the tech back from the humans. Not a single Spartan died in combat until the fall of Reach (the UNSC’s largest military base), on that fateful day most of the Spartans died while falling through the atmosphere and hitting the ground.

While Reach was falling Master Chief was given Cortana the AI that would be with him throughout most of the games. Cortana was another creation of Dr. Hasley, Cortana was actually created from a clone of Dr. Hasley’s brain. Because of this Cortana is similar to Dr. Hasley as far as mannerisms go. One main problem with the AI’s is that they typically have about seven years before they think themselves to death and become unpredictable and erratic. Cortana lasts eight years before she starts to decay, this due to the fact that Cortana is the most advanced human AI ever made (up to that point in time).

Master Chief ended up crash landing on a forerunner halo ring while fleeing the Covenant following the battle of Reach. Since he had Cortana with him she began to collect data on both the Covenant and forerunners while John made his escape from the halo ring. While escaping he managed to nearly single handed capture a Covenant flagship in the area. After assembling a small team of marines that survived the crash the Chief then moved on to destroy a large chunk of the covenant armada by destroying a refueling base. He then returned to Earth with all of the Intel gained, without which the humans were doomed to lose the Human Covenant war. On top of gaining Intel for the UNSC Master Chief also went on to kill as many of the three Prophets (Covenant leaders) that he could.
