The man who would become the vilest, and most powerful Dark Lord in the history of the British Wizarding World sadly didn’t start off evil, even though some would say that he was born to it. Tom Marvolo Riddle, Jr., was born to Merope Gaunt and Tom Riddle. Merope was the only daughter of the Gaunt family, who could trace their lineage back to the Hogwart’s Founder, Salazar Slytherin. However, this supposedly illustrious family could only best be described as white trash, and Merope grew up unloved and abused who developed a crush on the son of the local Lord, Tom Riddle. After Merope’s father and brother were taken to Azkaban for using magic to abuse the non-magical (muggles) in the area of their home, Merope brewed a potent love potion (Amortentia) to use on Tom, and live her dream of being his wife. Once Merope became pregnant with Tom Junior, she stopped using the love potion, and Tom Senior left. Merope, sick with grief, left the newborn child at an orphanage, only leaving a note with what to call him, and died.

As young Tom grew in the orphanage, the other children viewed him as different, and ended up abusing him for his perceived differences. However, as Tom grew older he learned how to control that which made him different, namely magic, and used it to keep those who abused him in fear of him. Shortly after this he was introduced to the Magical World of Great Britain by Professor Albus Dumbledore, when he began to truly master his magical powers and amass his army of followers, the Death Eaters. After graduating from Hogwarts, he slowly began his reign of terror which would continue virtually unimpeded until October 31st, 1981, when he was stopped through actions taken by James and Lily Potter to protect their son, Harry James Potter. The Dark Lord went after the Potters in response to a prophesy:

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches…born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not…and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives…the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies…

Sybil Trelawny

Professor of Divination, Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Unfortunately, prior to his downfall, the Dark Lord took several steps to ensure that he would never die, through the use of Horcruxes. These Horcruxes, also known as a soul jar or a phylactery, contained a portion of his soul, which would help tie him to the mortal plane until he could be reborn. After having lost his physical body to the young Harry Potter, Voldemort took the next 13 years to try and regain his body. When he did finally regain his body, he immediately started gathering his former followers and creating a new army that he then used to briefly take over the British Isle’s. Luckily, after a titanic battle at the famous Hogwart’s School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, Lord Voldemort was finally defeated by Harry Potter.

Captain America

The villain that would become the Red Skull started off life as Johann Shmidt, born to Hermann and Martha Shmidt. Young Johann was born in blood and pain shortly after his mother was forced into early labor and dying due to the abuse she sustained from Hermann. Due to grief that Hermann felt over having killed his “saintly” wife, he took his own life, leaving the now orphaned Johann to grow up in an orphanage. When Johann was seven years old, he ran away from the orphanage, making his living as a beggar and thief. Eventually, when he was a young man, Johann was taken in by a Jewish shopkeeper and given a job. Over time Johann developed feelings for the young daughter, named Esther, and he tried to force himself upon her. Esther refused his advances, and Johann flew into a literally murderous rage, killed Esther, and ran away.

Shortly after this, he came into contact with Adolf Hitler when Johann as working at hotel that was visited by the dictator. Over the course of a brief conversation, Hitler decided to take young Johann under his wing, and guide him into becoming the “perfect Nazi.” Depending on who you ask, Shmidt either went through personal training developed by Hitler, or more likely, was subjected to an early version of Project: Rebirth conducted by Dr. Abraham Erskine under extreme pressure from the dictator of Germany. Due to some complications from the untested process Johann was disfigured and his face ended up looking like a red colored skull, resulting in his new moniker “The Red Skull.” Upon the “successful” completion of his training, the Red Skull became the right hand man of Hitler, and started a research division that was helpful in creating many new technologies and strategies that helped further the Reich’s goals.

Over the course of the war years, the Red Skull came in to repeated conflict with Captain America, and his allies. Due to Captain America thwarting so many of his plans, and helping to stop the advance of Nazi Germany, Red Skull has come to hold a deep and abiding hatred for Cap. This hatred has come to be so strong that one of the main goals that Red Skull has in his many lives is to not only destroy Cap physically, but to also destroy his reputation so that he will be reviled throughout history. Shortly before Cap disappears near the end of World War II, the Red Skull also disappears. This could be due to him having fallen victim to the Cosmic Cube, or going into hiding with the fall of the Third Reich.

Whether it is acting on his own, or as the leader of HYDRA, Red Skull has repeatedly shown up again and again over the years…more so as Captain America has reappeared. Johann has been reborn both through the power of the Cosmic Cube, through cloning, and through the robotic genius of Armin Zola. No matter how many times it appears that Red Skull has been defeated, you can never count him out since he simply doesn’t know the meaning of the word “enough.”

  • Superhuman strength, endurance and pain resistance
  • Superior combat prowess

Bio –

Born into a brief life of servitude, Roy Batty had seen and experienced more in his four year of existence than most.  He witnessed attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. He watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.  And despite all his efforts, his memories were lost like tears in the rain.

Roy Batty was a Nexus-6 Replicant, created by the Tyrell Corporation.  He, specifically, was created with combat prowess and intellect in mind, sporting top stats in both categories.  At the time of the events of Blade Runner, he was three years and ten months old.  Nexus-6 Replicants were created with a four-year lifespan, to compensate for the inclusion of memories and emotions in these newer models.  As such, Roy’s mission became to obtain extended life for himself and his other Nexus-6 companions.  After leaving a trail of carnage and corpses in his wake, Roy was eventually defeated by his own internal clock, and passed away mere moments after opening his soul to his opponent, Rick Deckard.  A formidable threat, racing against prescribed death.

Anakin Skywalker was born on Tatooine into slavery, his mother being a virgin. While growing up he found that he was a very good pilot and on top of that he excels with repairing and even building machines and robots, such as a robot named C3PO that he built. Anakin was also a podracer while on Tatooine (a sport that most thought a human couldn’t do because of lacking reflexes). Anakin was first discovered to be force sensitive when Qui Gon Jinn and Obi Wan Kenobi became stranded on Tatooine due to a hyperdrive malfunction. Qui Gon discovered that Anakin was not only force sensitive while on Tatooine, but he also fit the prophecy for the chosen one that would bring balance to the force. Anakin then helped him to get the money to replace the hyperdrive on his ship, in return Qui Gon brought Anakin with him back to the Jedi Temple in order to be trained in the ways of the force.

At first the Jedi Council refused to have Anakin trained in the force, as he was older than the typical age that one would start training. However shortly after the death of Qui Gon Obi Wan began the training of Anakin. Anakin caught on quickly and was becoming powerful. Anakin also married Padme Amidala shortly after a protection mission, however being a Jedi at the time means that you are to have no romantic relations, therefore you are not allowed to be married, because of this his marriage was kept secret. Throughout the clone wars Anakin slowly began to become less in line with the beliefs of the Jedi, to the extent that he massacred an entire village of sand people when they killed his mother. Anakin had a vision that his wife Padme (who was pregnant at the time) would die during childbirth, in a desperate attempt to save her life he took counsel from Chancellor Palpatine, who unknown to Anakin was a Sith Lord. Palpatine told Anakin of Darth Plagueis (Palpatine’s old master) who had such control of the force that he could keep his loved ones from dying.

Soon after hearing of Darth Plagueis Anakin discovered that Chancellor Palpatine is a sith lord. He then went to Mace Windu to inform him as such. Mace then went to apprehend the chancellor with a group of Jedi (not including Anakin). After waiting for a short time in the council chambers Anakin decided to follow Mace Windu, when he arrived he found that all of the Jedi that came with Mace were dead and Palpatine was unarmed and injured while laying on the ground. Just before Mace dealt the final blow Anakin attacked him and killed Mace Windu. Palpatine made Anakin his apprentice and he became Darth Vader, his first act was to take his portion of the clone army and sack the Jedi Temple. While that was happening the rest of the clone army was ordered by Palpatine to kill all of the Jedi, a scarce few survived only to be hunted by the clones. Later Anakin and Obi Wan faced off on the lava planet of Mustafar, where the aftermath of the fight left Anakin on fire with no legs and only one arm (which was robotic). Obi Wan then took Padme (who had been choked out earlier) to a nearby friendly system where they tried to save her, however they could only save the babies (Padme was having twins). One of the twins was given to the Organa family while the other was given to Anakin’s remaining family. The twin that was given to Anakin’s family became a Jedi and became Darth Vader’s arch enemy. While Obi Wan was taking care of that, Palpatine found Anakin and saved his life, however his bodily damage insured that all of his limbs were robotic and made Anakin now have to wear his suit (which has life support systems) everywhere.

Side by side with Palpatine, Vader ruled the galaxy. While Palpatine was the mastermind Vader was the fist that kept everyone in line and insured the Empires success. Unmatched in combat or skill Vader continued hunting the remnants of the Jedi Order, while also hunting down the remaining resistance members. Years later Darth Vader’s son Luke was noticed by both Vader and the Emperor. When they finally met Luke was unaware of the relationship he had with one of the Sith Lords, and Vader unsuccessfully attempted to have Luke join him and rule the galaxy together. For nearly the rest of Vader’s life Luke would be his arch enemy.

The Prophets

Alias –
  • Prophet of Truth
  • Prophet of Mercy
  • Prophet of Regret
 Powers –
  • Covenant armada
  • Highly advanced technology
  • Religious loyalty from military
Arch Enemy –
Bio –

The Prophets are the three Hierarchs of the Covenant Empire. The Covenant Empire is an enormous alien nation that have been around since about 800 BC and worship the mysterious forerunners, an advanced and ancient species that is nearly extinct. They spend most of their time exploiting life that they find and studying artifacts from the forerunners, which is where they got most of their technology which is arguably their biggest downfall. I say that because since they rely so much on the technology that they find they do not create their own tech very often, this can be plainly seen by the fact that they still have for the most part the same tech that they had back when they formed some 3200 years before.

Their downfalls aside when the Covenant first find the humans they go on a genocidal purge in an attempt to keep their religion intact, as the very existence of the humans disproves their religion. Initially the human’s defense organization the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) were ill equipped to fight the still highly advanced Covenant and were losing world after world. When the Covenant would capture a world they would not set up a base or anything logical on the planet they would glass the planet to purge any other humans that were still there. Glassing the planet consists of an entire fleet blasting the planet with their plasma weapons until the entire surface of the planet is barren and destroyed.

The Prophets themselves usually sit on their floating chairs and command the armies, while the prophet of Truth and Mercy usually stay at the Covenant capital known as High Charity, the prophet of Regret will stay on the front lines with the army, in order to continue the search for more of the forerunner’s artifacts. The Prophets use the Elites or Sangheili as the main unit of the military as they are quite capable for combat and they are loyal to the Prophets… mostly… during Halo 2 uprisings were taking place and the Prophets replaced the Elite Honor guard with the Brutes otherwise known as the Jiralhanae. The Master Chief first comes to the Prophets attention when he destroys a Halo ring which is an enormous forerunner artifact.
