It’s time to learn more about wizarding North America. Introducing ‘The Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA)’, the latest instalment of theMagic in North America series of writing from J.K. Rowling.
Today on Pottermore you can read about how the American equivalent of the Ministry of Magic was founded following the tragic Salem Witch Trials; the history of MACUSA’s famous leaders and the original twelve American Aurors who enforced its laws – some with rather familiar family names.

‘MACUSA’ is the third instalment in the Magic in North America series of new writing. In ‘History of Magic in North America’ we learned about the beginnings of wizarding North America, from the fourteenth century right up to the 1920s.
‘Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’ told the story of Isolt Sayre, descendant of Salazar Slytherin who married a No-Maj and founded the famous North American wizarding school.
‘The Magical Congress of the United States of America’ will explore even more of America’s magical beginnings before you see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
